Is a Facebook poke really a good substitute for a card? Maybe not, but there are clever ways to use social media to wish Mom a happy Mother’s Day. Check out these homespun, effortless ideas for a lazily loving Mother’s Day:

Make a Vine for her.

With just one finger and six seconds of spare time, iPhone users can direct a Webby-worthy masterpiece on Vine. Make a greeting. Make a collage. Make a cat video. Just make something. Looking for inspiration? Check out “MADtv” alumni Will Sasso’s feed for some examples of son-mother affection:

Embrace her tweets.

It’s true: moms tweet. They might not tweet much, but they do tweet. Take my mom, for instance:

The point is, she doesn’t need to tweet a whole lot to be loved. Send her some favs! Throw her a bunch of RTs! Introduce her to Weird Twitter.
